With year-round warm weather, stunning landscapes, and a welcoming, family-friendly community, it’s a place where lifestyle and career come together.

Working with the City of Karratha means joining a progressive organisation committed to shaping this dynamic region—so you can build your future while enjoying everything Karratha has to offer.

The Opportunity

In this role, you’ll shape the future of a growing organisation by leading the programs, insights and initiatives that build a strong, capable and future‑ready workforce. Sitting at the centre of organisational strategy, you’ll guide workforce planning, capability uplift and people‑related change that supports long‑term success.

As the Workforce & Capability Coordinator, you’ll take ownership of the organisation’s workforce strategy and turn it into practical, measurable action. What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll take the lead on shaping how the organisation plans, develops and strengthens its workforce. Your work will turn long‑term strategy into clear, coordinated action that supports leaders, builds capability and prepares the organisation for future needs.
  • Driving the delivery of the organisation’s workforce strategy, ensuring initiatives are well sequenced, resourced and monitored.
  • Creating practical delivery plans, milestones and reporting that translate strategy into action.
  • Leading capability uplift activities, including leadership development, talent pipelines, succession planning and critical role identification.
  • Strengthening workforce governance, data quality and insights to support informed decision‑making.
  • Providing expert advice to senior leaders and partnering with People & Culture Business Partners to embed workforce initiatives into everyday practice.
  • Supporting organisational change, including system transitions, workforce readiness and structured change management.
  • Leading and coaching team members and project resources to deliver high‑quality outcomes.

  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret workforce data and provide clear recommendations.
  • Proven experience leading people or project teams with a supportive, coaching‑oriented style.
  • Confidence working with senior leaders and influencing across the organisation.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to produce clear, accurate documentation.
  • A solid understanding of contemporary HR practice, workforce frameworks and relevant legislation.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in HR, OD, Business or a related field.
