Are you an experienced procurement or contract management professional looking to take the next step in your career? We are seeking a Senior Procurement Officer to play a key role in developing, managing and guiding procurement and contract activities across the organisation.
In this pivotal role, you will partner with internal stakeholders, industry, and other government agencies to deliver high-quality procurement outcomes that support value for money, strong governance, and positive community impact.
About the Role
As a Senior Procurement Officer, you will:
- Develop medium and low-risk contracts and support the development of significant risk and material contracts.
- Lead procurement planning, tender development, evaluation processes, and contract negotiations.
- Provide expert advice to internal clients, contractors, and suppliers on procurement planning, contract development and contract management best practice.
- Prepare draft procurement plans and request for tender documents.
- Facilitate tender evaluations and the preparation of tender evaluation reports and contract documentation.
- Complete due diligence assessments and support probity requirements.
- Assist in developing contract performance indicators and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Design and deliver reports, presentations, and education sessions to uplift procurement capability.
- Conduct research into procurement and contract management trends, legislation, and good practice.
- This role plays a key part in ensuring compliance with legislation, policy, the Procurement Framework, and the Contract Management Framework.
About You
You will be a confident procurement professional who brings strong communication, analytical and negotiation skills. To be successful, you will have:
Essential:
- Demonstrated experience in procurement, contract development, contract management or relevant project management experience.
- Strong written communication skills with the ability to prepare procurement and technical documents.
- Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage effectively with senior stakeholders across public and private sectors.
- Well-developed research, analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Current Satisfactory National Police Clearance.
- Relevant tertiary qualification.
- Knowledge of State and/or Local Government procurement policies and frameworks.
- Membership with the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply Australia.
- Experience using TechnologyOne.
