This is a career defining opportunity for a high performing finance professional who thrives in a fast paced, professional environment and enjoys partnering with senior stakeholders to drive commercial outcomes.
Working closely with the senior leadership team, you will play a key role in the firm's financial reporting, analysis, budgeting, forecasting, taxation and continuous improvement initiatives.
This role is ideally suited to an ambitious qualified accounting professional who has built a strong technical foundation within a Big 4 accounting firm and has subsequently demonstrated success within a complex commercial environment.
The Opportunity
Key responsibilities include:
- Preparation of monthly financial statements, including profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow reporting.
- Management of month-end and year-end close processes.
- Preparation of statutory financial statements and taxation obligations, including BAS and FBT.
- Annual budgeting, rolling forecasts and cash flow management.
- Financial analysis, performance reporting and business insights for senior leadership.
- Analysis of profitability and key business drivers, including the development of performance dashboards.
- Preparation of executive and board-level reporting packs.
- Driving process improvement, systems optimisation and reporting enhancements.
- Providing support, coaching and development to a Graduate Accountant.
- Building strong relationships with Partners and key stakeholders across the firm.
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- CA or CPA qualification (essential).
- Experience gained within a Big 4 accounting firm.
- At least 3+ years' commercial experience following your move from public practice.
- Strong technical accounting and financial reporting expertise.
- Excellent understanding of Australian accounting standards and taxation requirements.
- Advanced Excel and financial systems capability.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders.
- Outstanding attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- A proactive, commercially focused and results-driven approach.
