The Role:
Reporting directly to our Finance Manager, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive accounting services with a particular focus on job costing, financial analysis, and operational insights. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a hands-on role where your expertise will directly contribute to business growth and efficiency improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage general ledger and subsidiary ledgers
- Month-end accounting including reconciliations and journal entries
- Perform detailed variance analysis between actual and budgeted results, identifying key cost drivers and operational inefficiencies
- Deliver comprehensive job costing analysis and margin assessments for fabrication projects
- Collaborate with production and operations teams to monitor costs, inventory usage, and work-in-progress valuations
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes across the business
- Assist with capital expenditure analysis and investment appraisals for new equipment
- Maintain and enhance cost accounting systems tailored to our manufacturing operations
- Continuously seek improvements to financial systems, reporting tools, and business processes
- Ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures, and internal controls
- Liaise with external accounting and taxation advisers for statutory reporting requirements
- Support various accounting functions as needed
- CPA/CA qualified with a degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business.
- 5+ years management accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
- Strong expertise in cost accounting, inventory management, and project/job costing
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience with ERP systems
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Outstanding communication skills with the ability to engage non-financial stakeholders
- Proven ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with MYOB Exo Business and MYOB Exo Job Costing
- Understanding of LEAN Manufacturing or continuous improvement principles
