Human Resources Business Partner
A senior HR opportunity has opened for an experienced Business Partner to support a large, diverse operational workforce and work closely with senior leaders. This role will appeal to someone who enjoys moving between strategic thinking and practical delivery, brings confidence in complex ER matters, and builds strong, trusted relationships that influence meaningful outcomes.

About the role
As a key advisor to leaders, you’ll shape people strategies that lift capability, strengthen culture and enable high performance. Your remit spans strategic partnering, organisational change, workforce planning and the delivery of key people initiatives. You’ll also provide day‑to‑day guidance and coaching to an HR Advisor, ensuring consistent, high‑quality support across the site.

A core focus of the role involves leading complex employee relations matters — including performance, conduct, grievances and investigations — and ensuring decisions are compliant, well‑reasoned and aligned with industrial requirements. You’ll also contribute to organisational design, capability development and broader people programs that support long‑term workforce needs.

Key responsibilities
  • Partner with leaders to design and deliver people strategies aligned to operational and organisational priorities
  • Provide expert guidance on complex ER matters, including investigations, grievances and high‑risk performance issues
  • Coach and develop leaders to build capability and embed strong people management practices
  • Interpret workforce data to identify trends, risks and opportunities for improvement
  • Lead the development and implementation of HR policies, frameworks and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Support organisational change, workforce planning and capability development programs
  • Oversee key people processes across the employee lifecycle to ensure consistency and alignment with business needs
  • Provide day‑to‑day support and coaching to the HR Advisor
  • Assist leaders to manage labour costs, industrial instrument requirements and people‑related expenditure
What you’ll bring
  • Tertiary qualifications in HR, Business, Psychology, IR or a related discipline
  • Experience in an HR Business Partner, Senior HR Advisor or similar strategic HR role
  • Strong knowledge of Australian employment legislation, Modern Awards and industrial relations frameworks
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex ER matters and providing high‑level advice to leaders
  • Capability in workforce planning, organisational change and leadership development
  • Strong influencing skills and the ability to build trusted relationships at all levels
  • Analytical capability with the ability to interpret workforce data and provide meaningful insights
  • Experience in unionised or enterprise agreement environments is highly regarded
This role offers the chance to work closely with engaged leaders, shape people strategy and contribute to a workplace where strong HR partnership makes a genuine impact.
