As part of continued organisational growth, they have created a new Head of Finance role to strengthen internal financial capability and provide high‑quality operational financial leadership.
The Opportunity
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the Head of Finance is the senior operational finance lead at Barunga Village. This role works closely with the CEO and plays a key role in supporting sustainable operations, regulatory compliance and informed decision‑making across the organisation.
As a member of the Executive Leadership Team, you will provide strong financial insight while leading the day‑to‑day finance function and developing internal capability.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide the CEO, Executive team and Board with executive level financial insight to support strategic planning and organisational performance
- Lead all operational finance activities including accounting, payroll oversight, cash flow, assets, reconciliations and month‑end processes
- Prepare monthly management accounts, variance analysis, cashflow forecasts, annual budgets and multi‑year financial projections
- Ensure compliance with aged care financial reporting requirements, Prudential Standards, ACNC obligations, statutory requirements and Australian Accounting Standards
- Coordinate annual financial statements and manage relationships with external auditors and the external CFO
- Act as Finance Business Partner with managers across the organisation to support financial decision‑making, cost control and performance improvement
- Monitor capital projects, grants and growth initiatives, including financial modelling and analysis
- Strengthen internal financial controls, risk management and governance frameworks
- Drive continuous improvements to finance systems, reporting capability and process efficiency, including automation
- Lead and develop the finance team, building internal capability and reducing reliance on external consultants
To succeed in this role, you will bring:
- CA / CPA qualified with tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance or Commerce
- Exceptional interpersonal and leadership skills to engage and inspire teams
- Strong expertise in budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and compliance
- Sound judgement, autonomy, and the ability to operate in a complex environment
- A pivotal leadership role with significant impact on organisational success.
