Our client is a respected not-for-profit organisation dedicated to supporting the wellbeing of Western Australians. They are seeking an experienced Governance Officer to support the development, implementation and continuous improvement of effective governance, risk, and compliance frameworks across the organisation.
 About the role 
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Governance Officer will work closely with the Executive and management teams to ensure robust governance practices underpin all organisational operations. This position will coordinate governance activities, support policy and framework reviews, and provide high-level administrative and executive support to ensure efficient and compliant governance processes.
 Key responsibilities 
- Coordinate reviews and updates of key governance initiatives, including risk management and business continuity frameworks.
 - Support the review, development, and implementation of strategic and corporate policies to enhance governance maturity.
 - Promote and embed governance and risk management frameworks throughout the organisation.
 - Provide secretariat support for governance meetings – including preparation of agendas, collation of papers, and drafting of minutes.
 - Deliver executive assistance to the Executive team, including coordination of projects and administrative tasks as required.
 
You are an organised, detail-oriented governance professional with the ability to translate frameworks and policy into practical, well-executed processes. You bring sound analytical and communication skills, thrive on continuous improvement, and are comfortable working with senior leaders to achieve strong governance outcomes.
To succeed in this role, you will have:
- A broad background in governance or risk management, ideally within a complex or not-for-profit organisation is a MUST.
 - A certificate-level qualification in business administration or a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a governance role.
 - Demonstrated understanding of governance principles, compliance obligations, and risk management frameworks.
 - Proven ability to develop and review complex reports and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
 - High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with database or records management systems.
 - Exceptional attention to detail, time management, and organisational skills.
