An opportunity exists for an experienced and people-focused Finance Manager to join a values-driven organisation delivering essential services to the community. Reporting to the Chief Finance Officer, you will be responsible for delivering accurate, timely, and compliant financial outcomes while leading and supporting a dedicated finance team. This role balances hands-on financial management with strategic leadership and continuous improvement.
   
About the Role
This is a pivotal leadership position responsible for both operational finance delivery and team leadership. You will be actively involved in reporting and compliance while driving process improvement and system enhancement across the finance function.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Leading, coaching, and supporting the finance team to ensure workloads are managed effectively and deadlines are met
  • Preparing monthly financial reports for Executive Management, Committees, and the Board
  • Managing annual budgets, long-term financial planning, and budget variations
  • Coordinating statutory reporting, annual financial statements, and external audits
  • Ensuring compliance with accounting standards, taxation (GST/FBT), and statutory requirements
  • Maintaining oversight of the general ledger, balance sheet reconciliations, and asset registers
  • Driving change initiatives to streamline processes and improve financial reporting and controls
  • Supporting business units with financial analysis to enable informed decision-making
  • Administering and optimising finance systems, including ERP enhancement or transformation
  • Contributing to treasury, risk management, procurement compliance, and policy review activities
About You
You are a capable finance leader who enjoys being hands-on while also developing people and improving systems. You bring strong technical capability, sound judgement, and the ability to influence across the organisation.
You will ideally have:
  • A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline (CPA or CA preferred)
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in financial management and reporting
  • Strong knowledge of accounting standards, statutory and regulatory compliance
  • Proven experience leading and developing finance teams
  • A continuous improvement mindset with experience leading process or system change
