a&co Recruitment is proud to partner with the City of Karratha to recruit an exceptional Executive Officer to provide strategic, political and operational support to the Chief Executive Officer and Mayor.
This is a pivotal role for a sharp, forward-thinking professional who thrives in fast-paced, high-stakes environments. The Executive Officer will act as the CEO’s right hand — anticipating needs, driving accountability, and enabling informed decision-making across Council and the organisation.
Multiple additional allowances are provided including housing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain a deep understanding of the community, Council, and strategic landscape across North-West WA
- Track State and Federal Government developments and assess implications for Council strategy
- Prepare agendas, briefings and background materials that ensure meetings are purposeful and well-informed
- Anticipate CEO and Mayor requirements, delivering proactive insight and strategic advice
- Drive reporting discipline and ensure key information flows efficiently across directorates
- Act as a strategic liaison between the CEO and internal stakeholders to promote alignment and accountability
- Oversee complainant triage and ensure appropriate governance and response protocols
- Provide discreet, politically aware support tuned into Council priorities and dynamics
- Leverage technology to streamline workflows and enhance decision-making
- Operate with initiative, independence and a strong solutions-driven mindset
- Experienced Executive Assistant supporting C-suite or senior leadership
- Exceptional written and verbal communication, discretion, and interpersonal skills
- Advanced Microsoft Office proficiency and strong attention to detail
- Proven ability to prioritise competing demands with sound judgment and professionalism
- Tertiary qualification in Business Administration (desirable)
- Current National Police Clearance and C Class Driver’s Licence
