The Y WA (formerly YMCA WA) is seeking an exceptional leader to join our Executive Leadership Team as Executive Manager – Early Childhood Education and Care.
Reporting to the CEO, this role leads strategy, growth and impact across one of Western Australia’s largest Early Childhood Education and Care portfolios, spanning Early Learning Centres, Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) and Family Day Care services.
Leading two senior operational leaders — the General Manager Early Learning and General Manager Outside School Hours Care — you will guide the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based education programs that support children and young people to flourish.

About the Role
As Executive Manager, you will drive the Y WA’s Growth for Impact strategy across the Children’s Services portfolio.
You will work closely with the Executive Leadership Team to strengthen service delivery, expand the organisation’s early learning footprint and ensure programs support strong pre-literacy, pre-numeracy, social and emotional development outcomes.
You will also play an important sector leadership role, building strong partnerships across government, universities, TAFE and the broader education sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide executive leadership across the Early Childhood Education and Care portfolio
- Lead the development and delivery of the organisation’s Education Strategy and School ReadY strategy
- Oversee the General Manager Early Learning and General Manager Outside School Hours Care
- Drive sustainable growth across Early Learning Centres, OSHC and Family Day Care services
- Lead high-performing, geographically dispersed teams
- Strengthen partnerships with government, education institutions and community stakeholders
- Oversee strategic planning, financial performance and portfolio budgets
- Ensure compliance with ECEC regulation and sector standards
- Champion safeguarding and high-quality learning environments
You are a respected leader with a deep understanding of Early Childhood Education and Care, bringing both strategic capability and strong operational leadership.
You are passionate about improving outcomes for children and understand the critical role early learning plays in lifelong success.
You will bring:
- Significant Executive level, or similar leadership experience in Early Childhood Education and Care,
- Strong knowledge of ECEC regulation, compliance and funding frameworks
- Experience leading large, geographically dispersed teams
- Strong financial and commercial acumen
- The ability to build relationships across government, education and community sectors
- A passion for delivering flourishing outcomes for children and young people
