We’re looking for an exceptional Employee Relations Team Lead to guide a newly formed team dedicated to delivering fair, consistent, and people-centered employee relations support. If you’re driven by integrity, skilled at navigating complex workplace issues, and passionate about leading with empathy, this role offers the opportunity to set the benchmark for how meaningful, respectful, and compliant employee relations work is done.

Your Role in Action
  • Empower and mentor a team of Employee Relations specialists—building capability, consistency, and confidence while modelling high-integrity, people-first leadership.
  • Oversee the flow of employee relations matters, allocating work based on urgency and complexity while ensuring the team is supported from first contact through to resolution.
  • Personally lead escalated or high-risk employee relations matters, applying strong judgement, procedural fairness, and a trauma-informed approach.
  • Ensure all ER processes align with the Fair Work Act, enterprise agreements, safety requirements, and internal policies—delivering defensible, transparent, and trusted outcomes.
  • Manage relationships with external partners, ensuring any support they provide meets strict quality standards and is used only when appropriate.
  • Maintain meticulous documentation and uphold rigorous reporting standards suitable for internal, legal, or regulatory review.
  • Provide data-driven insights and trend analysis to identify systemic issues and influence proactive cultural, safety, and compliance improvements across the organisation.
What Makes You a Great Fit
  • A values-driven leader with a passion for coaching and developing high-performing employee relations teams.
  • Proven experience managing complex or sensitive workplace matters, ideally within fast-paced, high-risk, or unionised environments.
  • Strong working knowledge of workplace legislation, enterprise agreements, and procedural fairness principles.
  • An exceptional communicator able to build trusted relationships at every level of the organisation.
  • Confident in preparing clear, compelling reports and presenting findings to senior decision-makers.
  • Skilled in trauma-informed approaches and committed to supporting safe, respectful workplace interactions.
  • Relevant qualifications in HR, employee relations, or a related discipline.
