We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Coach and Peer Facilitator to provide one-to-one coaching and facilitate peer support groups for carers.

This role would suit someone with a strong background in community services, human services, social support, mental health, disability, aged care or a related field, with experience supporting people through complex or challenging circumstances.

Lived experience as a carer, or other relevant lived experience, will be highly regarded.

You will support carers through the Carer Gateway program, providing individual coaching and facilitating in-person peer support groups. Through one-to-one coaching, you will help carers identify personal goals, develop practical action plans and build resilience and capacity.
You will also facilitate peer support groups, creating safe and inclusive spaces where carers can connect, share experiences, learn from one another and build supportive networks.

Key responsibilities
  • Provide strengths-based, person-centred coaching to carers.
  • Support carers to identify goals and develop action plans.
  • Facilitate a minimum of 2 peer support groups per week.
  • Provide a minimum of 10 coaching sessions per week.
  • Create safe, inclusive and engaging group environments.
  • Identify opportunities to establish new peer support groups in response to community need.
  • Promote relevant services and facilitate appropriate referrals.
  • Build relationships with community organisations and external providers.
  • Maintain accurate client records and required data.
  • Participate in professional development, supervision and regular one-to-one meetings.
  • Work collaboratively to maintain a safe and inclusive workplace.
Our client is looking for someone who is empathetic, resilient, organised and passionate about empowering others. About you:
  • Experience in community services, human services or a related field.
  • Experience providing coaching, mentoring, case support or individual support (3 years).
  • Experience facilitating groups, workshops, peer support or community programs.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • A person-centred, strengths-based and trauma-informed approach.
  • Confidence supporting people experiencing stress, isolation or complex circumstances.
  • The ability to manage challenging conversations while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries.
  • Strong organisational and digital skills.

Interviews are expected to commence in the next few days so please apply today!

Offices are based in East Perth - requires great comms and full working rights in Australia.
