Are you a purpose-driven executive ready to lead people strategy with impact?

This is a rare opportunity to join Communicare’s Executive Leadership Team as Chief People & Culture Officer (CPCO)—a pivotal role where you’ll shape culture, build leadership capability, and embed reconciliation across the organisation. You'll be empowered to lead transformational change in a values-led, inclusive environment committed to social justice and community wellbeing.

At Communicare, we believe in creating strong, safe, and inclusive communities where people can thrive. As a values-driven organisation, we are proud of our on-going commitment to reconciliation and walking alongside First Nations Peoples to build a united Australia grounded in respect, equity, and justice.

About the Role
Reporting directly to the CEO, the CPCO plays a critical role in shaping our people strategy, fostering a safe and inclusive workplace, and aligning our culture with Communicare’s mission and strategic vision.

This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a senior leadership role that not only champions best practice in human resources, organisational development, and workplace health and safety—but also leads with empathy, integrity, and cultural awareness.
The role provides leadership and expertise in developing culture in line with the strategic plan and building leadership capability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead cultural transformation that reflects our values and mission
  • Drive inclusive people and culture strategies aligned to organisational goals
  • Champion reconciliation initiatives that honour Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, voices, and leadership
  • Build organisational capability through talent development, leadership coaching, and workforce planning
  • Ensure regulatory compliance and foster psychological safety and wellbeing
  • Collaborate across Executive and Board levels to achieve service excellence and sustainable growth
  • Report on key capability and remuneration issues, developments, and directions
  • Develop long-term plans that anticipate future opportunities for growth
  • Lead the development of workplace health and safety frameworks
What We’re Looking For

A strategic, compassionate, and values-aligned leader who brings:
  • Executive-level experience in Human Resources, Organisational Development, or a related field
  • Proven track record in leading cultural and organisational transformation
  • Deep understanding of inclusive leadership, workplace wellbeing, and contemporary HR practices
  • Commitment to social justice, reconciliation, and culturally responsive leadership
  • Ability to influence and inspire others, guiding the organisation through growth and change
Why Join Communicare?
  • Work for a purpose-led organisation deeply committed to social impact and inclusion
  • Be part of a dynamic Executive Team dedicated to ethical leadership and community empowerment
  • Lead the way in embedding reconciliation and cultural safety across all people initiatives
  • Executive salary with flexible working arrangements
Our Commitment to Reconciliation

At Communicare, reconciliation is more than a value—it’s a priority. We honour the rich history and ongoing contributions of Australia’s First Nations Peoples and are committed to building respectful partnerships that create lasting change.
