Founded in 1953, Nulsen was created by families who showed courage when there were few alternatives. That same courage, combined with respect, collaboration, resilience and compassion, continues to guide the organisation today as one of Western Australia's most trusted disability service providers.
Building on this heritage, Nulsen has remained at the forefront of quality human services in Western Australia and played a leading role in the formation of PeopleKind Group launched in 2022. Today, as part of this Group of purpose-driven organisations, Nulsen continues to deliver disability services while benefiting from the shared expertise, collaboration and Group support that strengthen outcomes for the communities its organisations serve.
This appointment is about stewardship, leadership and purpose.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Nulsen Board of Directors and the Group CEO, the Chief Executive Officer will lead Nulsen through its next chapter, strengthening service quality, sustainability and culture while remaining deeply anchored to its values and heritage.
Nulsen is seeking a leader who brings calm and clarity to complexity: remains steady under pressure, listens deeply, contributes meaningfully, communicates with clarity, and stays focused during periods of change.
This is a role for a thoughtful, deliberate leader, someone who plans well, anticipates emerging issues and makes well-reasoned decisions aligned to purpose rather than reacting to noise. You will connect authentically with the people Nulsen supports, and work collaboratively with employees, families, external partners the Nulsen Board and Group CEO to build consensus without compromising accountability or quality.
You will also bring a considered, values-aligned approach to innovation, improving systems, services, and outcomes through evidence-based thinking, frontline insight, and practical change that reflect our commitment to compassion, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
About You
You are an experienced CEO or senior executive who has successfully led a complex, values-based organisation within the care, disability, health or broader human services sectors.
You bring:
- Demonstrated experience working within regulated care environments
- A strong understanding of the NDIS framework, funding models, safeguarding obligations and quality standards
- Deep appreciation for person-centred service delivery, particularly for individuals with complex needs
- Strong commercial and financial acumen, with experience balancing sustainability and mission
- Proven experience working constructively with Boards, regulators and government stakeholders
- A calm, collaborative leadership style that reassures stakeholders and stabilises teams
- The ability to communicate with clarity, warmth and influence across diverse audiences
Why This Role?
This is a rare opportunity to steward a deeply respected organisation whose purpose is clear: to empower people to live their best life.
You will lead with courage, act with compassion, collaborate genuinely, remain resilient through challenge and uphold respect in every decision.
For the right leader, this role offers a profound impact for individuals, families, employees and the broader Western Australian community.
