a&co Recruitment Partners are proud to partner with the City of Karratha to appoint a Business Partnering & Talent Acquisition Coordinator — a senior leadership role shaping how the organisation attracts talent, supports leaders and builds a high‑performing, future‑ready workforce.
This is an exciting moment to join the City. As the organisation aligns to deliver the Council Plan 2025–2035, new structures, new roles and new capability are being built to support long‑term community outcomes. For the right candidate, this means stepping into a role with genuine influence — where your work strengthens leadership, improves people systems and contributes directly to the future of the region.
Karratha is the Pilbara’s largest and most dynamic city, with billions in planned investment across energy, infrastructure, tourism and community development. With warm weather year‑round, stunning natural landscapes and a welcoming, family‑friendly lifestyle, it’s a place where career growth and quality of life go hand‑in‑hand. Joining the City means becoming part of a progressive organisation committed to shaping a thriving region.
The Opportunity
In this role, you’ll lead the delivery of people partnering and talent acquisition services across the organisation — ensuring leaders are supported, recruitment is modernised, and people initiatives are aligned to strategic workforce needs.
As the Business Partnering & Talent Acquisition Coordinator, you’ll guide a multi‑disciplinary team, provide trusted advice to senior leaders, and drive improvements across the full employee lifecycle. Your work will strengthen organisational capability, uplift people leadership, and ensure the City is equipped to attract, retain and develop the workforce it needs for the future.
What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll take ownership of how the organisation partners with leaders, manages talent and delivers people‑related change. Your work will shape culture, strengthen systems and ensure people practices are consistent, contemporary and aligned to organisational priorities.
- Leading the delivery of people partnering and recruitment services, ensuring high‑quality, timely and consistent support for leaders.
- Guiding and coaching a team of Business Partners, Talent Acquisition specialists and support staff to deliver strong outcomes.
- Modernising recruitment processes, improving candidate experience and strengthening onboarding across the organisation.
- Providing strategic advice to senior leaders on people matters, workforce challenges and organisational priorities.
- Overseeing people policies, governance and frameworks to ensure compliance and contemporary practice.
- Using workforce insights, data and trends to inform decision‑making and support organisational planning.
- Leading initiatives that enhance employee experience, engagement, leadership capability and workplace culture.
- Supporting organisational change, including system improvements, workforce readiness and structured change delivery.
- Partnering closely with the Workforce & Capability team to ensure alignment across workforce planning, capability uplift and people strategy.
You’re someone who brings strong judgement, a strategic mindset and the confidence to influence at senior levels. You enjoy leading teams, improving systems and partnering with leaders to deliver practical, people‑centred solutions.
We’re looking for someone with:
- Experience leading HR business partnering, talent acquisition or people advisory functions
- Strong understanding of contemporary HR practice, people governance and relevant legislation
- The ability to interpret complex workforce issues and provide clear, practical recommendations
- Experience managing and developing teams, with a supportive and coaching‑focused leadership style
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build trusted relationships across all levels
- Confidence navigating employee relations matters and supporting leaders through complex situations
- Experience driving organisational change, improving systems or uplifting people capability
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in HR, IR, Business or a related discipline
- Base salary
- 13% superannuation
- Karratha allowance
- Travel allowance
- Subsidised housing
- Relocation assistance
This is a rare opportunity to shape people strategy, uplift capability and lead meaningful organisational change at a time of growth and transformation. You’ll influence how leaders are supported, how talent is attracted and how the organisation builds a strong, engaged and future‑focused workforce.
