About the Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly skilled Building Services Coordinator to lead our talented Building Services team. Reporting to the Manager of Regulatory Services, you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring compliance with a variety of regulatory requirements, including the National Construction Code, Residential Design Codes, and more. This is your chance to shape the future of building services in Karratha, while enjoying the flexibility of being based locally, on FIFO terms, or remotely.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and coordinate building applications, ensuring smooth approval processes
- Conduct thorough inspections and manage compliance matters with ease
- Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of Building Surveyors and Swimming Pool Inspectors
- Innovate and develop policies that enhance service delivery and efficiency
- Provide expert advice to builders, architects, and the public, making a real difference to the community
- Manage budgets to ensure efficient use of resources
What We’re Looking For:
- Registered Building Surveyor (Level 1 or 2) - this is non-negotiable.
- 3-5 years’ experience in local government or private consultancy (local government experience highly desirable).
- Strong knowledge of the Building Act 2011, Building Regulations 2012, and National Construction Code.
- Exceptional leadership skills and a natural ability to motivate and guide a team.
- Excellent communication skills, with a knack for problem-solving.
- High-level IT proficiency, including Microsoft Office and digital assessment software.
- A current C class driver’s license and National Police Certificate (within the last 6 months).
