Barton Gold is an ASX-listed Australian gold developer focused on advancing a portfolio of high-quality gold projects in South Australia. As they continue their investment and growth journey with the ambition of becoming South Australia's largest pure-play gold producer, they are expanding their finance capability and seeking a motivated Accountant to join the Adelaide-based team.
The Opportunity
Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, this newly created role offers the opportunity to work closely with senior leadership and gain exposure to the financial operations of an ASX-listed resources company. It is an ideal opportunity for an ambitious accounting professional looking to develop their career within a growing organisation.
As Accountant, you will work across a broad range of accounting responsibilities, including financial reporting, budgeting, payroll, taxation and process improvement, while helping build scalable finance systems to support the company's growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation of annual and half-year financial statements
- Prepare monthly management reports and variance analysis
- Support the development and enhancement of accounting and financial reporting systems
- Assist with annual budgeting, forecasting and reconciliation processes
- Reconcile company bank accounts and manage banking relationships
- Prepare and lodge BAS and assist with FBT and income tax returns
- Manage accounts payable processes and purchase order reconciliations
- Process and administer monthly payroll accurately and on time
- Assist with financial compliance and regulatory reporting requirements
- Provide general administrative support and participate in ad hoc finance projects
You are a proactive and detail-oriented accounting professional who enjoys working in a dynamic environment and taking ownership of your work. You are comfortable managing competing priorities and are eager to contribute to a collaborative and growing team.
- CA/CPA qualified
- Previous accounting experience in a commercial environment
- Strong technical accounting expertise across ERP systems, GL, and month‑end processes
- Proven experience with statutory reporting, tax compliance and payroll
- Excellent organisational, analytical and communication skills
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build trust with internal and external stakeholders
- Experience within the mining, resources or ASX-listed company environment
- Knowledge of company reporting requirements
- Exposure to ASX Listing Rules and listed company compliance obligations
