Reporting to the Financial Controller, this role plays a key part in delivering accurate financial reporting, insightful analysis, and supporting key business decisions across the organisation.
The Opportunity
In this hands-on role you’ll take ownership of month-end reporting while working closely with senior stakeholders, including Executive Management and the Board. You’ll also contribute to ongoing improvement initiatives, audit requirements, and regulatory obligations.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounting & Reporting
- Prepare monthly management accounts, including P&L, Balance Sheet, and variance analysis
- Deliver timely and accurate financial and management reports
- Analyse financial results and provide insights to support decision-making
- Complete balance sheet reconciliations including prepayments, accruals, intercompany and clearing accounts
- Post journals and ensure accurate month-end and year-end reporting
- Prepare investment related calculations and reporting (earnings, distributions, market movements, trading outcomes)
- Prepare year-end financial reports and audit working papers
- Liaise with internal and external auditors
- Assist with BAS, FBT, and GST reporting requirements
- Support prudential reporting including APRA returns, capital adequacy, and ABS reporting
- Maintain Fixed Asset Register and ensure compliance with accounting standards
- Support accurate record keeping, financial controls, audit readiness, and continuous improvement within the Accounting Services function.
- Comply with information security policies, procedures, and control requirements to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and security of systems and information assets at all times.
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- CPA or CA qualified (or working towards) with a degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or related discipline
- Minimum 5 years’ accounting experience, ideally within financial services industry
- Demonstrated experience in financial reporting, reconciliations, and management accounting
- Proven audit exposure, including preparation of working papers and auditor engagement
- Strong understanding of regulatory reporting (APRA exposure highly regarded )
- Strong communication skills with ability to engage stakeholders at all levels
