The Opportunity
SAGE Group is seeking a detail‑driven, proactive Accountant to join our high-performing Finance team based at Tonsley. Working closely with the Finance & Administration Manager, you will play a key role in delivering accurate financial reporting, maintaining core accounting processes, and supporting the wider business with timely and insightful financial information.
  
About the Role
You will be responsible for a broad range of financial accounting duties, including:
   
Financial Accounting & Reporting
  • Prepare month-end journals and perform general ledger reconciliations
  • Maintain the fixed asset register (additions, disposals, depreciation)
  • Maintain and reconcile the finance lease register
  • Assist with annual FBT preparation
  • Prepare BAS returns across multiple entities
  • Support project accounting, including WIP reconciliations
  • Provide information for ABS and other statutory reporting
  • Deliver ad‑hoc analysis and bespoke reporting to support key business decisions
  • Assist with weekly payroll review, ensuring compliance and accuracy
  • Review payroll-related reconciliations (PAYG, super, payroll tax, WorkCover, leave provisions)
Continuous Improvement & Stakeholder Support
  • Contribute to the refinement of finance processes and best‑practice initiatives
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, providing quality financial support
  • Assist the broader finance team with general accounting tasks as required
About You
You are an engaged, solutions‑focused accounting professional with strong technical capability and a commitment to accuracy.
  • CA or CPA qualified (or working towards), with tertiary qualifications in Accounting
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience within an accounting or finance role
  • Strong understanding of financial accounting principles and Australian GAAP
  • Demonstrated experience with month‑end processes and reconciliations
  • High attention to detail and strong analytical skills
  • Experience with Pronto and project accounting (desirable)
